PASS OFFS
All pass off deadlines are posted throughout the band hall.
The first pass off, the Intro, is due at the end of this week.
Please do NOT wait till the last minute. Start working on memorizing the music now. Remember, show music MUST be memorized - we do not use flip folders during performances!

OUTDOOR REHEARSALS
Bring a water bottle!
Wear sunscreen!
Wear *soft soled* shoes that conform to your feet! NO flip flops, hard soled boots, sandals, etc.
And now that we're rehearsing in the evenings, wear WHITE shirts to assist with setting drill!
And also, bring a water bottle! Water breaks will be relatively short and to the sideline. Having the water where you can quickly reach it is essential! Please stay hydrated!
Please be especially careful to bring a water jug and WEAR SUNCREEN and a hat when appropriate. Severe sunburn WILL make you sick. Protect yourself from the sun!

REQUIRED PAPERWORK
If you missed band registration, here is what you need to know:
* Paperwork packets are available outside Benton's office. This paperwork is *required* before you may participate in performances, football games, parades, etc. YOU MAY STILL REHEARSE! But we do need that paperwork in ASAP during summer band.
* Student drug testing forms are now available! These, also, MUST be turned in before performances and *any* travel are permitted!
* Everyone ought to have instrument, locker, flip folder, and uniform by now. If you still lack one of these things, please talk to a director outside of normal rehearsal hours. (Hint: Five minutes before rehearsal starts is not a good time ask!)

REMIND
Remind is an app that allows me to send immediate updates to your phone, either through the app (if you have it installed) or as a text message. Signing up for the Pampa Band Remind is easy! You can either:
Text the message @pampapride to the number 81010
or
Download the app and search for the class @pampapride
Please remember that if you changed numbers at any point over the summer, you're probably not signed up for the Remind! Aside from updates on this Facebook page, Remind is the PRIMARY way I communicate with the band. Please, if you want to know what's going on with the PHS Band on a regular basis, sign up for the Remind when you have a chance!

SUMMER BAND REHEARSALS
Reminder that Summer Band rehearsals are MANDATORY for participation in the competitive marching band. Failure to attend rehearsals *may* result in one forfeiting one's spot to a shadow.
Summer Band, in terms of time commitment, is 1/3 of our rehearsal time in our competitive marching season! Truly, a full one third of your marching season happens during summer band! Consistent attendance is vital to our success as a band! We can't grow as a band if we aren't all present. Please make attendance a priority!

MARCH-A-THON
March-a-thon forms are available outside of Benton's office. March-a-thon is our easiest fundraiser and grants the most direct profit of all of our fundraisers - 100% goes to your student! Collected donations can be left in a clearly labelled envelope in the drop box.

IMPORTANT UPCOMING DATES
Aug 16 - Meet the Harvesters
Aug 18 - March-a-thon
Aug 21 - First Day of School!
Aug 31 - First Game! Home vs Borger
~
We're two weeks in and sounding GREAT considering how early it is in the season! (And props to our guard who have learned all of their work up through the ballad - I think that's the fastest the work has been learned in recent memory!)
Keep positive energy and attitude as we press into our intro this week - it's 14 sets long and I would *love* to see if we could get it all on the field before school starts! Keep up the hard work and lets see what we can accomplish
As always, if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me.
